Alabama BBQ Style Fried Wings
1 cup
Prepared mayonnaise
1/2 teaspoon
Cayenne pepper
1 teaspoon
Paprika
2 tablespoons
Granulated garlic
1 teaspoon
Onion powder
1/2 cup
Apple cider vinegar
2 lbs
Springer Mountain Farms Wing Portions, Party Wings or Drumettes
2 quarts
Canola oil
- To make the Alabama white BBQ sauce, mix mayonnaise, cayenne pepper, paprika, granulated garlic, onion powder and vinegar in a large bowl.
- Add canola oil to a high-walled medium to large sized pot, and heat over high heat until it reaches 375-400°F.
- Pat all wing portions with paper towels to dry them, and then carefully add the wings to the hot oil.
- Cook in batches if necessary, being careful not to overcrowd the pot.
- Fry the wing portions for 4-6 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches at least 165°F.
- Once cooked, remove from oil to a paper towel lined plate for draining.
- Add hot, cooked wings to the BBQ sauce and toss to coat.
