In a celebration of International Women’s Day on March 8, Community Farmers Markets is hosting an evening spotlighting female talent in Atlanta’s local food movement. Lady Locavores will feature bites and drinks from the best of Atlanta’s female chefs, mixologists, farms, and artisans. The event features an auction of experiences and products, all by local women.
This year’s chairs include chef Jennifer Hill Booker, Liz Lapidus, and chef/author Virginia Willis, who took the lead at the very fort Lady Locavores in 2016. The three will honor award recipients as the evening winds down.
Funds raised at Lady Locavores will be directed towards Community Farmers Markets culinary education program, which helps increase local food cooking literacy through at-market and community cooking demonstrations.
There will be food and drink for all dietary preferences, all locally made and grown.
The first Lady Locavores featured 11 chefs and mixologists. Here is the incredible talent gearing up for the 5th annual female food and drink celebration in the large space of Monday Night Garage.
