We are proud to have earned the Safe Feed/Safe Food Certification by the American Feed Industry Association. The mission of the Safe Feed/Safe Food Certification Program is to establish and promote generally accepted food safety guidelines designed to ensure continuous improvement in the delivery of a safe and wholesome feed supply for the growth and care of animals.. Springer Mountain Farms recognizes that healthy animals need a safe, wholesome food supply as well. That’s why our chickens are fed a simple diet of corn and soybeans grown only in the United States; without the use of antibiotics, growth stimulants or hormones, or animal by-products. The corn and soybean meal that we use is extensively tested not only for its nutrient value, energy, protein, minerals, and amino acids, but also for numerous quality standards such as molds, moisture, grade of product, and pesticide contamination. Every load of ingredients is tested on site in our USDA & ISO certified lab upon arrival to the feed mill, and additionally, every load of finished feed is tested before it leaves the feed mill headed to the farm.
